Hello and welcome to my practice. I commend you for making the choice to look into receiving help for yourself – this is the first step in change. Finding a therapist is a process that must be taken seriously and part of what needs to be in place is the belief that your therapist is a good fit for you. I am a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and a CEDS (Certified Eating Disorders Specialist). I am a qualified supervisor and work with interns and therapists that are looking to receive their Florida licensure. I am also a CEU provider and present workshops on both addiction and eating disorder issues.
I have designed my website to give you a look inside my practice, read about my areas of expertise and learn about the various approaches that I use. I have also included some additional information about myself, my training, my professional path and my personal philosophy when working with clients. Again, I am pleased you have made this decision and hope that you find this information helpful.

Anger. The “secondary emotion” as some people refer to it. Regardless if it is secondary or primary, we all have different ways of communicating it. Through my work with patients in my private practice I have helped to identify and discuss four styles of communicating anger. Passive “Accepting or allowing what happens, or what others […]
1. “I am still not the priority?!” When one enters recovery, their partner is usually feeling a great sense of relief and gratitude. Possibly believing some “normalcy” will return to their lives. Time together, evenings out, no more fighting the booze for attention. Over time; however, the truth reveals itself. No, it is not the […]
You and your partner (P1 & P2) are sitting on the couch after dinner and one asks the other – P1:“did you get the dry cleaning like I asked?” P2 “what dry cleaning?” P1 “what dry cleaning? The dry cleaning I asked you to get!” P2”why are you yelling? Its just dry cleaning” P1“BUT I […]
Jennifer is an amazing therapist. I appreciated how, as a client in a difficult situation, she met me right where I was at – and helped me get to where I needed to be – with patience and understanding. She’s incredibly easy to talk to and has an energy that makes you feel immediately at ease – this helped with quickly establishing trust, which is so important in being able to move forward. I wholeheartedly recommend Jennifer Lorey and have heard nothing but fantastic things from anyone who has sought help from her.
Jennifer is definitely one of the best therapists I have worked it. Her broad scope of knowledge was so helpful in treating many of the issues I was battling. She challenged to look at and face several issues but is so caring and compassionate. I would recommend her to anyone who is seeking therapy
Jen is top notch. Shes extremely kind and compassionate but doesn’t fall for b.s. If you struggle with addiction, self destructive behaviors, family problems, relationship problems, anxiety, depression, grief, etc, she can provide a supportive and informative setting to process your issues. She’s honest, non judgmental, intelligent, and committed. I’m grateful to work with her and if you are looking for a therapist you would be very wise to give her a call.
